I received one of these from a friend who did not know the name of the plant. I am assuming it is a kind of bromeliad. It was so root bound and badly cared for. Most of the fronds are badly curled or laying down and there are "korms"? (like rizomes) all over the pot. I took it out of the pot and cut it in two and put the halves in clean pots with fresh soil. Do you think they will be able to recover well enough to look like yours? Do you fertilize yours? What do you give it? What kind of soil do you pot them in? I live in Florida so I think they should do well here. Thanks for your assistance.
