I have a fine friend in Ben Sota. He and his partners Erin, Mike and friends, are theater bards and acrobats who perform for the Zany Brothers Umbrella Circus. They travel the world doing their performances to audiences world wide. Recently they were on tour in Ethiopia and Jordan. I met them in Pittsburgh several years ago and since then have seen them in several places. Ben asked me to design a backdrop for their most recent skit. The skit has four movements which incorporate the four seasons.
Spring is about the magic of spring. An egg shows up in the mail with a list of how to take care of it. The little girl who received the package goes down the list daily. She is instructed to roll the egg, cover it, sit on, etc. When the time comes closer for the egg to hatch, the mother bird comes searching for the egg. She comes floating in with beautiful eloquence and offers her thanks for watching over the egg.
