A rousing 4th of July block party has been going on in Nashville's Whitland Avenue neighborhood for 30 some odd years. Patriotism is the word on the street. There is a parade, a cooking contest (all food is consumed!),plus band music, politicking and special speakers. It's one rare opportunity to hear a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence. These images...for me...capture the spirit of the event.
