Baby, It's Cold Outside

Temp was 9 (F) & who knows what the wind chill was. Brr.
The first time in the park since November. Skyline Drive has been closed "due to ice & snow" almost all of December & January. Even closed "in anticipation of..." as it was today at about 11 AM (weather forecast called for snow starting at 7 AM the next day). All I got for my 165 mile round trip was about three hours before the gates went down and everyone had to leave. Was closing that early really necessary?
