4/6/08 - Virginia Bluebells

Growing on the banks of Bull Run in the Manassas National Battlefield Park. The bloom cycle is just beginning - should peak in about a week and last for another week after that (guessing).
Photographer is at ground level and looking up into these flowers growing on a steep bank which provided brown leaf mulch as a background instead of sky. Upward view on a ground level camera made possible with a right angle viewfinder attachment.

Nikon D300
1/100s f/11.0 at 130.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very nice Ed. I caught a couple just starting to pop out at Great falls last week. -BJ

I was wondering how you caught a vantage point on those! Ours should start blooming soon, and I want to try, but they're on level ground. Another trick I read from FP was to place a mirror below, and shoot into the mirror. :)
