3/4/08 - Infrared Pine

Took a few of this pine from this general spot working with the large rocks as foreground objects and as a leading line. Used both my IR converted D70 and the D300 (and lost my hat forever someplace on the mountain due to the big time winds while standing on this hill side).
I chose this one because of the two triangles (rocks & grass) that support the tree (another triangle?) with the point of the upper triangle leading to the base of the tree. Made for a nice composition.
Rain, fog, wind with tolerable temperatures of about 50 and the rain always on the light side which made keeping the lens face dry no problem. All in all, an ideal photography day. Near Big Meadows in the Shenandoah National Park.

Nikon D70

I replied separately to Bob, but in answer to his question - the conversion was done by Life Pixel and I am very satisfied.

This is nice! Where did you get your D70 converted? Or did you do it yourself?
