A macro-macro with almost zero depth of field. Trying to show a hint of a rose depicted more by shape, shadow & color than by lines & detail. Detail is for botany texts.
Don't ever enter an image like this in a competition. The judge needs to throw out at least 75% of the entries and you just helped him/her accomplish that goal "Out - I don't get it; the maker needs to work on focus". Or - the judge who said over & over "This must be art *and* if it's art it's out". Since that club's main goal for competition was education, I'm not certain what the attendees learned. Shoot only for text books?
