Still experimenting with the D300's in-camera montage (overlay) feature. It allows you to set the "strength" of each of the two selected contributions to the final image. Yesterday's PAD had both contributing equally. Today I set the sharp image to 1.5 and the blurry image to 0.5 (1 & 1 yesterday). This makes the "background haze" less overpowering.
Finally, also still experimenting with Nik's Color Efex Pro 3 filters (wonderful stuff). I did a Tonal Contrast first. This was followed by Light/Darken center with the center placed over the middle of the left bud and slightly brightening this area while slightly darkening the rest.
Way too much time on my hands. Not really, it takes time to learn the features of our latest and greatest technology in order to make the best images possible.
