This is a digital version of a double exposure - shot as you would with film. That is, I did not cut & paste a moon from one image on to the cattails. I made a moon image - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/85157181 - & an image of the cattails silhouetted again the dawn (pre-sunrise) sky http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/85157185 . I put these two images together (two layer composite with the moon as the main image and the cattails overlaid - used the "darken" blend option so that everything in the cattail image that was darker than the same area of the moon image showed through which is exactly what I wanted - except for some minor cropping). I made these two images this morning while waiting for the sun to rise.
Yesterday I commented that four consecutive days of cattail PADs was enough. I was wrong. Got a zillion winners today. I'm starting with this one of the moon not because it's best but because I already did one with the sun yesterday.
