3/16/07 - Crocus Trio

They looked spectacular through the viewfinder; less so here. The shallow DOF is intentional to focus attention on the foreground flower and to present the other two as soft "echoes".
I found several small clusters like this and managed to while away several hours trying to make something of them - over half of that time waiting for the breeze to let up. They averaged from 3-5 inches high so you can imagine where the photographer was to get this. My recent complaint was difficulty in getting back up but now it's also tougher to get down there as well. Don't get to be 70.

Ed, I think I'd quite like to reach 70 and take wonderful photos like this :) If you have PS try just running the Autocontrast on it - you'll see it's a beautiful image that just needs a little more "wow"
