Double exposure ala Orton, Sweet or Gallant - take your pick, although I suspect that it's Orton.
This is a double exposure - one frame in sharp focus and one wide open and totally out of focus. I occasionally say "such & such image was inspired by Tony Sweet's use of this technique" and my "mentor" corrected me. He said that Tony learned it from Andre Gallant at a Freeman Patterson workshop. Well, I had heard of it well before ever hearing of either of those gents. It was called the Orton Technique or an Orton Image. I will have to ask Orton and Gallant when they first started using it and settle the debate (although the true innovator was probably none of the above).
