enhanced - 3

Looking for an "enhanced" (read - manipulated) image for the January competition. The "Out of Frame" technique seems to be a novelty that hasn't been used in competitions here. Won a ribbon with this one on Tuesday - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/52737292 - and thought I'd ride this pony until the wheels fall off. This pelican out of frame works, but I'm going to keep looking in hopes of finding an image that stands on its own merits & where the out of frame gimick is just something extra. I don't think that the pelican is that strong of an image (that is, wouldn't win if simply entered in the Advanced Color Print category - "it's just a bird" would be the typical judge's reaction).

boegheim - thanks for the suggestion. I think it looks much better with a shadow & will keep that in mind in the future.

great photo and excellent framing
you might consider adding a shadow (at the out of frame part) then it gets more perspective
