I've been waiting for the Virginia highway median wildflowers to begin blooming. Another week or two & things should be nice. Right now a few poppies have started. I walked for quite a way looking for an isolated poppy with some contrasting color in the vicinity. This was the best that I could do for now. Needed the long lens to do this since walking in amongst the newly sprouting wildflowers didn't seem to be a good idea. Shot from the median perimeter on route 211 in Amissville (& the wind from passing vehicles made getting a motionless poppy virtually impossible). The best time is very early on a weekend morning - no natural breeze, no traffic and good light.
