8/18/04 - The Day of the Dragonfly

I guess for a PAD this is cheating - 4-in-1. Came across 4 different kinds of dragonflies this morning and decided to share. The top 2 are actually about 1/3 the size of the bottom 2 (maybe 1" vs. 3" respectively). The individual images are at http://www.pbase.com/image/32731790 (and the next three).

Penny, you're right. The top two are damselflies (all are order dragonfly). I guess it's time for me to learn a little about these critters. Thanks.

Beautiful captures ,I think the top two images are Damselflies aren't they ? .I have been trying to get a shot of a huge dragonfly on a pond but i can get close enough , i've been trying to track it while it's flying but it is too quick so far .
