Backing off a bit from the tiny critters, to one slightly larger. It gets a well balanced meal since each tiny fish it catches comes up wrapped in aquatic grass. A great blue heron, a near year round resident, owns this pond. The great egret shows up mid-July and leaves for the winter. Shooting this with the sun backlighting the egret was tough. Took a bit of digital darkroom curve tweeking to get the side facing me from dark gray to something approaching white - as it was when I saw it.
