First of all - this is from the camera and not via Photoshop. It uses a technique I call shoot-through. For a shoot-through something is close to the lens (often touching as in this case) between the lens and the subject. The camera is focused on the subject and with a fairly wide open lens (depending on the distances involved) the intervening object takes on the appearance of a colored mist. In this case there were red blossoms and green leaves close to (and against) the lens face and the subject flower was a foot or so away (shot with a 105 mm 1:1 macro lens). The arty frame was included to add to the overall arty effect.
