This is what many think of when hearing "Maine" - rocky coasts & lighthouses. This is the Bass Harbor light on Mount Desert Island near Acadia National Park. Another risky rock scramble (otherwise that darn pine tree blocks most of the lighthouse). My joints ached at the end of the day like never before - even going up/down stairs hurt. Ouch! I was close enough to the water that one especially large wave got me & the camera wet from its spray (like being in a salt water shower).
