A Barred Owl. I'm not much of a wildlife photographer - not patient enough. However, if the opportunity presents itself (dumb luck and not patient stalking and waiting) then I'm glad to take the shot. This was made two years ago near Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park in Michigan while on an Elderhostel program. I'm going back there in a few weeks and needed several photos for an Elderhostel program nature photo contest - making this an obvious choice.
