Made 8 minutes before sunrise (see here - http://ed-k-photo.smugmug.com/gallery/6988948_kjHp8/1/530656669_uVGPA/Large - for sunrise). If you wait for sunrise to get your shots, you've waited too long. As the saying goes - if you snooze, you lose. I had to get up a little after five to get here for the show. The bad thing about sunrises is that you usually don't know until it's too late whether the "show" is two thumbs up or down. Got up 15 minutes earlier today to drive to another, further away, location - and it was a total dud with black clouds in the eastern sky blocking out any hint of the sun. Oh well, yesterday made up for it. Of several days in the mountains - a total of 2 mornings and 2 evenings - I batted 1 for four. At sunset both evenings you couldn't see 100 feet for the fog & rain.
