Brokenback Run along the Weakley Hollow Fire Road in Shenandoah National Park shortly before emptying into the Hughes River. Getting close to these mountain streams when they are running (roaring - great sound) full like this makes me nervous at times since my balance and strength at 72 aren't what they once were (never great). Being here all alone with no potential help adds to the nervousness. But fool that I am, that hasn't stopped me; getting from the fire road down to the stream bank slowed me down a bit. Would have loved to get rid of the near foreground small branches and twigs - but that would have been fool hardy even for me.
