Nice early spring day, so I took an afternoon walk with my new walk around point & shoot. A lot of green algae was starting to form on the wetland ponds - together with a gazillion tadpoles and other small aquatic critters. Post-processed with Nik Color Efex Pro 3's Polaroid Transfer filter to add a funky border and to soften the image around the edges just inside the border. I love the Nik tools (starting with Capture NX which is the only PP software I use from RAW conversion on through to the end - CEP 3 is an NX2 plug-in). The Nik U-Point technology makes selective application of effects a matter of a few seconds to point at your chosen areas. In this case, I basically just "negated" the application of the Polaroid Transfer to the scum and reeds near the center by pointing at the green and pointing at a sample reed and adjusting the radius of the effect.
By the way, I used Nikon's Capture NX on the JPEG output from my walk around Panasonic LUMIX. Some folks think NX is just for Nikon camera images. It works equally well for any make - it just can't do RAW conversion for any make except Nikon.
