Winter Jasmine, one of the earliest plants to bloom here in northern Virginia. Flowers are similar in size & color to forsythia.
This image was done with a D300 100% in-camera (apart from RAW conversion and minor white balance, color & contrast adjustments). The background is an in-camera 10-shot multiple exposure - moved the camera more or less randomly between shots. The three flower foreground is a closeup done with an 18-200 mm lens at 200 mm plus a Canon 500 D close up lens, The foreground and background were combined in-camera using the D300's Image Overlay function.
I made a similar Winter Jasmine image for the first time nearly 6 years ago using a Nikon 5700 point & shoot and spent the better part of a day putting the 10 separate images together in post-processing. Isn't progress grand?
