02/21/09 - Grand Teton Panorama

My first (and only) panorama. Took this fall 2007 and never looked at it; somehow convinced myself I'd done it wrong. Processed & saw it today for the first time.
Six images taken from left to right with about a 1/3 overlap. Shot it using "manual everything" to avoid the camera doing me exposure "favors" and changing the lighting between shots. Tripod, of course. Did the post processing in the only pano-stitch software I own, Photoshop Elements 5. The software nailed it right out of the box - I adjusted nothing just took it as is. Completely seamless to my eye. Amazing & a big pleasant surprise.
I think scenes like this is what panoramas were made for - like a scene from a western movie - is that John Wayne riding down that ridge?
For SmugMug viewers, try the "Large" option to see the whole image all at once and, for some fun, try "Original" and the horizontal scroll for a more close up view. At Pbase, the "original" size option will fill the screen thus giving the best overall view of either site.

Wonderful pano Ed! Gorgeous autumn colors and a very different look to the tetons, with low hanging clouds.
