1/6/09 - IR Gazebo #1

And we're back to memory lane. This is one of my first (and favorite) infrared images. It was made with the same Nikon 5700 point & shoot as was the Winter Jasmine image posted on the 1st. Used a screw in IR filter (the filter is opaque so framing has to be done before adding the filter to the camera - resulting in long exposure times which can be seen by the "in motion" branches at the top of the frame). I now use my old Nikon D70 which has been converted to IR-only.

Nikon Coolpix 5700
1s f/4.6 at 10.7mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Wonderful IR image ... composition is perfect and use of the IR filter makes it an especially beautiful shot. BIG vote, Ed

Stunning image. The 5700 cameras was one of the last "great" Nikon compacts, along with the 4700 and 4300. Stunning image. Great composition and IR. I love how the water looks on this.
