11/10/08 - IR Reflections

Reflections in a stream on a pretty autumn day. The only reason I mention autumn is that I was curious how IR would deal with the oranges & yellows in the foliage. I assumed the answer was "just like green foliage, dummy" and wasn't disappointed (in the IR treatment nor in the overall result).
I passed this through Nik's Color Efex Pro 3's Polaroid Transfer filter to give the image a "fancy border" and added a greenish tint to fit the woodsy stream-side ethereal mood. The IR is in-camera using my infrared converted D70. A circular polarizer helped get the reflection "just so".
True Confession - I think this is the only daily photo in nearly 5 (FIVE) years that was hand-held. Might be another but I sure don't recall. Too lazy to walk back to the car & swap cameras. Shame, shame...

Great use of IR ... turned this scene into something moody and mysterious. Voted

Gorgeous shot Ed. Love just the subtle two tones in this beautiful reflection shot, that is so perfectly composed.
