The Nikon Coolpix 990 is an excellent candid camera as you can leave in its "closed" position and still takes no flash shots whilst people think you are fiddling with the camera/LCD monitor. The Zoom is internal to the camera as well. My EOS system would be useless in candids. This really is a great camera.
