This was taken at the site of the Jantar Mantar observatory, which consists of masonary-built astronomical instruments erected by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur (1699 - 1743).
The instruments are built of brick and rubble, plastered with lime and bear graduated markings to take readings.
They have been repaired and restored repeatedly, as evidenced by this pic!
