Taken at the summit of Swirl How.
The original plan was to walk back along the main ridge of Wetherlam and gradually descend towards Coniston. Unfortunately, as my left-knee was playing merry hell by that stage I was keen to descent, rest the leg, and enjoy some painkillers of the liquid sort in the Keswick Lodge (recommend Thwaites Thoroughbred, if you're the drinking sort), which necessitated a change to the plan.
As it was, we descended along the Prison Band and made our way back via Levers Water. A short while after passing Levers Water some very energetic fell-runners raced by, which made me feel sorry for myself - not them - indeed!
