The Carl Wilson Foundation was established in honour of Carl Wilson. Sadly Carl died on 6 February, 1998 from cancer. With brothers Brian and Denny, cousin Mike Love and Al Jardine, together they formed The Beach Boys. Overshadowed by the other members in the early years, mainly due to being younger than all the others, Carl became the lynchpin and leader of the band and his voice developed to become one of the sweetest voices around, his lead vocal on 'God Only Knows' is a prefect testament to this. The Carl Wilson Foundation aims to help in funding cancer research and also to help people who suffer from the disease. Starting in 1999 the Foundation organises charity concerts, golf tournaments and walks, so in keeping the spirit of Carl alive it also helps those suffering now.
