Just when you think you may survive the hours of sensory overload from wandering the exhibition rooms of the Louvre, you walk through one last room and the walls open up to the beautiful courtyards of the Richelieu building, lined with magnificent sculptures. The quality of the light from the massive skylight over the courtyards is soft, warm, and luscious like the finest vanilla. The scale of the statues, and the fine detail of each work, is almost too much to absorb. I could easily have taken another hundred images in this area but my brain couldn't process any more data. I "shot" the Louvre and the Louvre won!
