The source for this image was a photograph of a stone planter holding a plant with red
blossoms. A weathered gray park bench stood next to the planter, and a flagstone wall
completed the background. After hours of experimentation a seven-petaled kaleidoscope
with just the right mix of parameters was created with Paint Shop Pro. Additional
effects (shadows, etc.) were then applied via Photoshop.
