Place de la Bastille

The Place de la Bastille marks the location of the infamous Bastille prison destroyed
between July 1789 and July 1790 during the French Revolution. The Colonne de Juillet
("Column of July") at the Place de la Bastille commemorates the July Revolution of 1830.
The column is 154 feet (47 meters) tall.
