Earl, This looks like an American Goldfinch (non-breeding). Their color is not as bright yellow when they are not breeding. We get them here in New Jersey during warmer weather, although sadly, they have been rather scarce in recent years. whatbird.com is a good resource for identifying birds. Your photos are fantastic.
