Spring Grove remains an arboretum with over 1,200 species, 1,000 labeled for study. In 1985, it ordered plaques to honor its previous Presidents, placing each by a tree planted during that man's term. Twentieth-century management developed an extensive collection of flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials, periodically importing new species, like the Russian cypress. Spring Grove's arboretum serves as a national laboratory where universities, nurseries, and growers bring new plants and seeds to test while others are developed in-house.
Great gallery, I have been wanting to go to Spring Grove Cemetery since I moved here and your photos have given me even more reason. Nice Job! http://www.cincyimages.com
