An old rusty Russian trawl-float lies washed ashore, by this old house along the Varanger coastline, in Finnmark, northern Norway.
These floats can actually be distinguished, as the Russian ones were made of steel, whilst the English and German ones were made of aluminum.
Furthermore, the English ones also had a reinforcement ring welded onto them, whilst the German ones were simply slick spheres.
Today they are made of titanium, covered in colorful durable plastic (mostly red or yellow). But you can still find these oldtimers, littered all over the shores around the globe.
