Silurian shores

The geology surrounding lake Mjøsa, Hedmark county, Norway, mostly originates from the Silurian geological period, some 445 million years ago.
These sedimentary rocks are rich on lime, providing for lush and favorable agricultural landscapes in the area.
And if you go looking, you can quite easily find many kinds of fossils along these shores.
