In memory of my dear mother, who passed away not even two weeks after this picture was taken :-(
She gave birth to me in August, and she also died in August, so this late summer mood will always remind me of her.
For me she's still out there somewhere; in the silence, in the softness of the light, in the subtle scent of ripe crops floating above the fields...
And then I think of Patty Griffin's heavenly version of "J'irai la voir un jour" (French lullaby), which last verse aptly goes like this:

J'irai la voir un jour
J'irai, loin de la terre,
Sur le coeur de ma Mère
Reposer sans retour
