A small bumblebee restlessly in search for nectar on a Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium) in full July bloom.
The English name Fireweed is actually exactly the same name as used in my local Norwegian dialect (Hedmark county), where this plant is called "eldmerkje",
translated to something like "firemark", pointing to the fact that this is the first plant to colonize burnt-out ground after house- and forest-fires etc.
