Ljótipollur

The big crater Ljótipollur (Ugly pool) is not ugly for sure!
It resides along the Veiđivötn fissure zone, in the NE corner of Landmannalaugar NP, and it's the southernmost crater in that fissure swarm.
It exploded in 1477 AD, and it's huge scoria cone displays glorious colors inside, mostly red, green and dark.
Although the 14 m deep lake in the crater bottom has no river either in or out, it still holds a population of nice trout!
