The inevitable tourist magnet Gullfoss, where people from all around the world flock in thousands during summer.
This famous waterfall in the river Hvitá consists of two subsequent drops, 11 and 21 meters high respectively, where the last major fall plunges
into a 20m wide and 2,5 km long gorge, somewhere up to 70m deep. The gorge runs at a 90ş angle to the rivers direction above the fall.
