you literally boiled one of the kindest, calmest, and most beneficial snakes in THE WORLD alive!!!! these guys are literally so calm you can pick them up (if you do it slowly) without any resistance! they are like the cutest thing ever! the only things they eat are eggs from low nests (they arent the most adapt at climbing, but can), rats, and bugs! people pay to bring these things into their yards to get a more stable and pleasant environment! people kill them because unlike rattlers and cotton mouths they dont run away! they get run over because they freeze like a deer in head lights! i have seen intelligent people pull over and help them across the road! literally everything kills them (i have had problems because a single feral cat murdered literally over 35 of them in a month, and thats only the ones i found dead) cats kill hundreds of birds which they dont even eat! start killing feral cats (a invasive species) instead of these native ones! killing them is like killing a panda, except grey rat snakes are calmer and are better for the environment!

WHY??? Why do you kill them!!! They are here for a reason... Next year when you are run over with rodents and other little creepy things, Not to mention the poisonous snakes that come to eat the rodents etc. .. You'll wish you had these harmless snakes around to keep them at bay! just saying...

We have a lot of these type snakes around our yard. A Wren couple have had there babies in a hanging plant on my porch. This morning setting on my steps I noticed about 5-6 ft gray rat snake climbing up toward the baby birds, the dogs, cat, nor the parent birds new the snake was there. I took a picture with my phone boiled a pot of hot water and throw it in the monkey grass were it was hiding, it left, hopefully for good.
