We do have fishing spiders in Michigan, though they rarely get as large as they do in FL. If it was inside the house was it on the wall? Fishing spiders don't have scopular hairs so they can't climb smooth vertical surfaces; if it was inside the house on the wall/ceiling it was likely a huntsman spider

Thanks for posting these wonderful pics: my Ironman race buddy has a house in Florida, but we're both from Michigan & love nature. Thanks to your photos, I've discovered the large spider in his Fla house as being Fishing Spider - a species we don't know in Michigan. Thanks!
