I noticed this bird had a color band on its left leg (no. 29) and a smudge of blue dye on its breast. I learned that it was captured at PDX airport on October 2, 2013 as part of a program to reduce bird/aircraft collisions and transported to Ankeny NWR where it was released. I photographed it in my local patch on October 27, 2013.
