Shetland, Orkney, Lewis, Harris, and Inverness (all photos)

A much shorter version (with titles) can be seen at: https://pbase.com/dwerner/beautiful_wasteland

This is a digital age light-table view, with all the "slides" laid out for selection.

Of the 575+ images, about 50 would [and since have] make the cut for further attention and gallery printing.

Click on thumbnails to enlarge individual images.

Gamma optimized for Macs and printing (may look a bit dark on PCs) - View in "Original" size if possible.

Thank you for dropping by. - All photos © Dave Werner 2005

A surprising amount of 18th century Lerwick is still there. North of the small boat harbour you begin to see vessels that can (and do) go out in anything the North Sea has to offer. NL2H0848.jpg This beautiful double ended launch surprised me as I was setting up the shot of 'Swan' (the ketch in the background). NL2H0877.jpg NL2H0879.jpg
