Of all the herons, the Green Herons(Butorides virescens)are the clowns supreme. I know the Reddish Egret (and its white morph) do the fancy dance as part of their feeding, but the "Greenies" are my favorite. From their "get down like a dog" stalking to their righteous indignation and loud squawking when disturbed, their very demeanor is like that of a little dog that barks loudly.
