Once again we are forcing a wisteria into early bloom for an art show reception. And while we are at it, some tiny Chinese Elms have been dragged into warmer space.
The wisteria was brought in the weekend of February 5th and has been repotted with very minor root pruning. This year the elms were kept in the coldest part of the garage over the winter. One was definitely showing bud swell in that space and we are relieved to see that the others have survived OK. It is desirable not to over water dormant plants, but there is sometimes a fine line between that and irreversible dessication!
