We closed out the fall session in style. Besides the usual last minute things, we had a major raku firing that provided some spectacular results and a pot luck lunch. One might suppose that since potters make items for storing and serving food, that leads to an above average interest in food. It appears that way, as it sure doesn't take much encouragement to get quite a table full of goodies.
The weather was better than we had any right to expect in mid-November, so the raku firing, which is strictly an outdoor process, was able to go forward under near ideal conditions. Such firings are always fun and exciting, as there is lots of activity going on - and lots of smoke and flame!
