July 4th weekend we celebrated our nephew Jon's graduation from Purdue with hosting a visit to Pennsylvania. In the days from the 3rd to the 8th, we covered a lot of territory (even if somewhat superficially). In this gallery we display some shots taken in New York City.
On July 6th, we had been fortunate to get last minute matinee tickets for The Book of Mormon at the Eugene O'Neill Theater in NYC. We drove over to Hamilton, NJ, east of Trenton, and took NJ Transit to Penn Station. From there we walked through a bit of Madison Square Garden and then had lunch at Grand Central Terminal. After that we walked past the Empire State and Chrysler buildings, and took in the play, which was hysterical. After leaving the theater we walked up to see a bit of Central Park, then made our way southward through Times Square, had a nice dinner in an upscale Italian restaurant, and caught the train back to NJ. It was quite a good day.
These shots were taken with Ye Olde Photographer's recently acquired iPhone 5c. It's much better than no camera, but were he serious, he would reach for his Canon PowerShot G15 - and if he was really serious, his EOS 40D!
