As it happens, there is a one of a kind festivity at the Grand Canyon North Rim on the Fourth of July. Many of the employees and visitors participate by decorating their vehicles (and themselves). The parade is relatively short but loops around two or three times and we got to see it in both directions. Water pistols were handed out to visiting kids and, at least in 2016, they had a 3000 gallon water tanker on hand just to make sure nobody ran short. A grand time was had by all.

This was part of the Grand Tour 2016, a 5800 mile drive through flyover country!
