This was billed as a "run-by" done
prior to boarding for the return trip. In the old
original Iron Horse Rambles, the train stopped in
a spot where there were trackside fields and let
all who wanted to get off do so. After that the train
would back up, perhaps a quarter mile or so, and
then come charging past for photos. All that with
a second short backing up, plus re-boarding those
who got off. You really got to see some action, but
it was a frequent cause of falling behind schedule!
